Please allow me to introduce myself. Chris Summers, fulfilling the roles of Building Inspector, Plumbing Inspector, Health Officer and E-911 Coordinator. I prefer to look at this position as a resource for the residents of the Town of Paris. There are a great number of regulations and requirements that I am responsible for enforcing. Some set forth by the residents of Paris and still more from the State of Maine. I view each exchange as an opportunity to help inform people who don’t deal everyday with all these requirements to navigate and develop the best product possible.
In Paris we do have permitting processes for New construction from a shed to a commercial building. We do permit for renovations. Plumbing has a separate permit as dictated by the state. If you are installing a new, replacement or repair to a septic system there is also a permit dictated by the state for that.
If you have questions or concerns, I can be reached at 207-890-9590 or at ceo@parismaine.org. I try despite the demands of the position to respond to all correspondence as quickly as possible. If you prefer an in person visit, I suggest you call ahead to make sure I’m not out on inspections. I would much rather answer an easy question than have to take enforcement action because the question wasn’t asked.
