Seasonal Parks & Recreation Maintenance (Part-Time)
HELP WANTED! Your Town of Paris Parks & Recreation Dept is seeking a dependable Part-Time, Seasonal Parks & Recreation Maintenance Team Member who loves the outdoors to assist the Paris Parks & Recreation Dept. The beauty, cleanliness, safety and maintenance of the Parks, Reserves, Trails and Town Center is important in instilling pride in our local residents and community.
Must be a team player and have skills/experience in maintenance, landscaping, Parks, construction, handyman/woman, laborer or building repair work.
Duties include, but not limited to:
- Maintaining Parks, Reserves & Trails in South Paris & Paris Hill
- Planting, Weeding, Mulching, Landscaping
- Park Equipment & Monument Upkeep
- Other Duties in partnership with Recreation Director
APPLICANT SHOULD HAVE:
- A minimum of 2 years’ above work experience
- A valid Maine driver’s license in good standing
- Applicant must be able to do manual labor, have a pick-up
truck and know how to use various tools - A High School diploma or GED
- A sense of humor is an added bonus!
This 20 hour per week Recreation Dept Seasonal position would begin immediately.

Applicants must be certified as a full-time police officer by the Maine Criminal Justice Academy or have successfully completed Phase I and Phase II of the Law Enforcement Pre-Service Training Program. Laborer
Candidates must be able to perform work as a team member. Duties include, but not
limited to:
▪ Cutting brush
▪ Patching Roads
▪ Sweeping Street
▪ Installation of culverts
▪ Plowing snow
▪ Sanding Roads
Applicant must have a CDL license in good standing, minimum of 2 years’ experience, and high school diploma or equivalent. Public works maintenance and equipment operation experience desirable, but will train the right person. Candidate must be willing to work in all weather conditions and overtime as required.
