Maine Speed Test Tips

The Maine Speed Test is the primary way for individuals to participate in the State-Led Challenge Process. Last week, MCA was made aware that some participants were taking speed tests without uploading the necessary evidence and documentation. To comply with the model challenge process used for the BEAD Program, NTIA requires Maine to collect evidence demonstrating the subscription level in addition to the actual speed tests. The Speed Test portal has been updated, now requiring this information before completing the first of three speed tests.

To provide additional support to individuals and partner organizations encouraging the successful completion of speed tests, MCA has developed a new Maine Speed Test Tips resource with instructions about collecting and uploading evidence from various device types. These tips are also available on MCA’s Resource Exchange. The Maine Speed Test will also remain open through May 31, 2024.
